Thank You Spring! Blended Bloom Card With Stampin' Up!

Well hello there! I've been thinking that as of late, I would like to gear my card making towards the "Thankful" direction of things. It's often easy to remember the larger, more monumental celebrations in life, and to forget the everyday simple moments and gestures, that make our world, our years, and our days most happy. So if you see a few more thank you card posts in the near future, this is why. I'm hoping to send a few in the mail ASAP. Saying thank you is great in and of itself, but a hand made snail mail thank you card shows that extra special thought and appreciation. So what do you say? Let's give more thanks this spring!

This wooden thanks sentiment makes it that much easier to whip together a quick thank you. It's beautiful all by itself really! As for the flower focal point on this card, I stamped the main image in Watermelon Wonder. To give it that nice soft blended look, I used a fine tip paintbrush with some rubbing alcohol and Watermelon Wonder Ink Refill to colour it in. The alcohol makes it blend super easy, just make sure you are in a well ventilated area. I'd like to call this technique "Drunk Ink Painting", but I'm not sure if that's politically correct! I did the same thing for the leaves but with Cucumber Crush. I didn't have any leaf stamps in my stash that were jumping at me, so  I took the flower from the "Butterfly Basics" stamp set and hacked off the blossoms (I think it worked great for leaves in a pinch).

As for the inspiration pieces, today's card layout came from the #TGIFC50 sketch. If you click on the sketch below it will take you to the TGIF challenge blog where you can see what it's all about!

I also decided to add a touch of nature with the flower and leaves. Nature is the theme this week over at the Global Design Project (#GDP031). The gadget below will take you on over there if you wish to venture.

Now if that wasn't enough, I came across this blog post, where the rest of the pizazz came from.

So there you have it! When you pull a few inspiring pieces together, you can truly come up with something wonderful. Thanks to all of the teams who shared their ideas and inspired me!

Now check out the Stampin' Up list below if you are interested in making your own card like the one I shared with you today!

Happy Stampin!
